Rewarding and exciting careers in nursing begin with the one-year Practical Nursing program at Red River Technology Center.
Students attend the 12-month Practical Nursing program from July to the following June and attend class Monday through Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinical hours vary from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Applicants must schedule an entrance exam (testing dates listed below) and complete an application packet prior to being accepted to the Practical Nursing program. Applicants must also have a pre-requisite course of Medical Terminology, with a minimum of 45 clock hours, with a grade of B or better. Information packets may be picked up from the LPN office in the health careers building. The Practical Nursing program is open to adults who possess a GED or diploma.
